Experts offer tricks that may help boost an individual's metabolism
Simple calorie reductions and eating changes may be all a person needs to help them lose pesky winter pounds. In a recent article published in the Toronto Sun, personal trainer Josh Hewett and nutritionist Joey Shulman provided a few helpful tips that may enhance the benefits of a person's diet plan by speeding up one's metabolism.
"Rinsing with cool water after your shower, keeping your home a little cooler and sleeping with lighter blankets can all help increase your metabolism. Your body will increase the metabolic furnace in an attempt to produce more body heat," Hewett explained to the news provider.
Do not eat anything within three hours before going to sleep at night, Shulman told the news source. The nutrition expert also recommended that people drink six glasses of water each day to help them feel full. He also said that individuals who replace white bread with whole grains may experience better weight loss results, since eating less sugar may increase one's insulin sensitivity.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, steady dieters who lose between one and two pounds per week are more likely to keep the weight off.
