How the HCG Diet Could Aid in Preventing Breast Cancer

February 8th, 2010

The HCG diet does nothing to prevent or treat cancer. However, it is true that current research suggests that the HCG hormone could have yet another positive effect. It could reduce the risk of breast cancer.  How has this conclusion been reached?  Well, let’s start at the beginning.

The Science
HCG is human chorionic gonadotropin, the hormone produced by women during pregnancy.  Studies have indicated that women who experience pregnancy, especially full-term, at a young age prior to twenty, are up to 50 percent less likely to develop breast cancer.  The question then becomes how to recreate this apparent protection that pregnancy naturally provides.

The HCG Experiment
To verify HCG’s protection and determine whether an HCG supplement would have the same effect as pregnancy (and to what extent), rats in puberty were given known carcinogens to stimulate the development of cancer cells.  Once tumors had developed, the rats were given one of two treatments for the duration of two weeks.  One group was given HCG supplements, and the other group was given estrogen and progestin hormones. Then both groups were compared to the control rats.

The rats given the HCG hormone experienced fewer dividing cancer cells, fewer cells carrying estrogen receptors (which aid in the growth of breast cancer cells), and the production of more tumor-suppressor genes.  Thus, the HCG was effectively acting as an anti-cancer drug.  Additionally, there were genetic signature changes in the HCG-treated rats that were very similar to those that pregnancy would cause.

The less fortunate rats treated with estrogen and progestin did not experience any relief from breast cancer symptoms or any genetic signature alterations.

The Results
Dr. Irma H. Russo, Chief of Molecular Endocrinology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and one of the doctors involved in this research, says that the goal is definitely to use HCG as a preventative measure in the battle against breast cancer.  HCG would not have, it is believed, the toxic side effects that have been observed in other drugs such as Tamoxifen, which has been associated with blood clots and endometrial cancer. Because HCG is actually produced by the human body, researchers do not believe it will have similar side effects.

So nature might hold the answers both to weight loss and to cancer prevention—who knew?

3 Reasons to Try the HCG Weight Loss Plan

February 8th, 2010

If you have tried and failed on other diets, then you really must give the HCG weight loss plan a try. Other diets do not address the underlying cause of obesity. Because of this oversight, dieters will only lose weight to a certain point, and then hit a plateau. This leads to a cycle of self-hatred and frustration that has the power to wreck your self-esteem.

Remember: it’s not your fault. It’s the diet’s fault.

1.    You will see rapid results

If you have felt angry with yourself for years, then it’s important to know that you will see rapid–in fact, almost overnight, results with this program. Studies show that you are likely to stick with programs that offer visible results within a very short period of time. That positive reinforcement keeps you motivated. If you have felt stagnated for years, then this quick weight loss will inspire you to change your life.

2.    You will not experience hunger or fatigue

If you have given up on dieting because you always feel hungry or tired on a plan, then you will love this program. As the hormone prompts your body to burn excess fat, you will get all the additional nutrition your body needs. You will never feel hungry between meals even though you are on a low-calorie plan. As your body burns fat it also releases pent-up energy. You will feel rejuvenated. In fact, you may actually feel about 10 years younger.

3.    You will learn to love healthy foods

This program is not about artificial or processed foods. In fact, we strongly urge you to never eat processed foods again. They strip your body of the HCG it needs to function. This plan focuses on lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as herbal teas. You will learn to love these nutritious and wholesome foods. In fact, you will carry this appetite well into the maintenance phase of the plan.

The typical dieter experiences a weight loss averaging a pound per day. We recommend you try the program for at least 15 days to give your body a chance to reset its normal processes, and to discontinue the program after 45 days as the oral HCG loses some efficacy at that point.

Just think of it: you have so much weight to lose and such a short time frame to make it happen. Are you up to the challenge? We think so! Get the figure you’ve always wanted with our diet program in just a few weeks, you deserve it!

Additional Health Benefits of Using HCG

February 7th, 2010

It’s interesting how you can focus on one aspect of making your body healthier, such as your weight, and you unexpectedly become healthier in other ways, too.  This frequently happens with HCG.  People undergo the oral HCG weight loss plan, and other health problems end up being fixed in the process.

Treat One Thing Fix Another
I’ve experienced this phenomenon in my own life. Several years ago, I stopped my consumption of coffee, processed sugar, fried foods, and dairy, in the effort to feel better, to be calmer, and to stop having heart palpitations.  I wasn’t trying to lose weight, but the weight fell off.

A year or two later, I went to a chiropractor for relief from the back and neck pain that had plagued me since I was a teenager.  Throughout the course of my treatment, my allergies and my digestive issues got a lot better.  I was less surprised this time, because I had a much better appreciation by then of how you can’t separate one part or function of the body from another. How it’s all connected.

Lose Weight and Lose Weight Related Illnessess
So it doesn’t really surprise me to learn that HCG dieters who suffer from diseases such as diabetes experience improvement in their conditions. People with stable cases of diabetes who have undergone the HCG diet have witnessed the steady dropping, day to day, of their blood sugar levels.  High blood pressure and high cholesterol are other conditions that are markedly improved. Sometimes, like diabetes, to the extent that patients can even stop taking their medications—with their doctors’ approval, of course.

These results make perfect sense to me. After all, being overweight tends to go hand in hand and often lead to diabetes (the type 2, adult-onset variety), high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Therefore, it would follow that solving the weight problem would also help with these other issues.  But often you can lose weight and still experience high cholesterol or blood pressure, maybe from not putting the focus on good nutrition.

The HCG plan puts the focus on true, complete health rather than a superficial substitute.

HCG Diets: The History and Science

February 7th, 2010

HCG Diets have been much in the news in recent years, but in fact, they have been around since the 1950s, when endocrinologist and HCG weight loss pioneer Dr. A.T.W. Simeons began publishing his startling research on the nature of obesity.

The Making of an Endocrinologist

Dr. Simeons was a graduate of the University of Heidelberg Medical School in the 1920s. He chose endocrinology as his specialty, which in turn led to a fascination with tropical diseases such as malaria, dengue fever and leprosy.

Simeons spent several years working at a hospital in Hamburg where the diagnosis and treatment of such diseases were the focus. In 1928, Simeons went to central Africa in order to study these diseases in their own environment. Following this, he accepted a post in India, where he spent most of the next two decades.

During his time working in a Mumbai hospital, Dr. Simeons was able to do intensive research into the effects of undernourishment  on pregnant women as well as patients who because of a defective thyroid gland had gained a great deal of weight. While these might not seem to have any connection, Dr. Simeons came to two startling conclusions:

  • The primary function of HCG was to protect the fetus, preventing the starving mother’s system from leeching nutrients
  • Administering low doses of this hormone to morbidly obese patients caused them to actually lose their excess fat.

Dr. Simeons believed that this excess fat, known as adipose, was a kind of “fuel reserve” that was locked up in a usable form should the person experience a “nutritional emergency.” What happens instead, he wrote in 1954, “is that someone suffering from obesity who attempts weight loss through a low calorie diet will first lose lean muscle tissue, followed by protective visceral fat.”  That “…only as a last resort will the Body yield its abnormal reserves,” adding that “by that time the patient usually feels so weak and hungry that the diet is abandoned.”

This is the tragedy of those who repeatedly attempt low calorie diets that invariably fail

The Role of HCG

Dr. Simeons concluded that when HCG is reintroduced into the adult system, it recalibrates the hypothalamus gland – the part of the brain than regulates metabolic processes. It helps to unlock adipose deposits, making them available as a fuel source when calories are not otherwise available – as when eating a low calorie diet.

How HCG Treatments Can Change the World

February 6th, 2010

I believe that HCG treatments can change the world.  More specifically, I’m talking about taking oral, sublingual HCG to treat and ultimately cure obesity, rather than the injection variety that up until recently had been the only available form, and only available to those able to pay a lot for it.

The HCG Secret is Out
HCG was what the stars and the heirs and heiresses used to go to their exclusive clinics to get.  It was their big, expensive secret.  They didn’t want everyone to know about it, because then everyone might have the key to looking as great as they did.  Not to mention feeling great, but I’m not sure how often the rich and famous actually feel great.  Money doesn’t buy happiness, you know.

I’m not sure anything can actually buy happiness, but I’ll tell you what I think leads to it:  good health.  Why wouldn’t the stars’ good health make them happy, then?  Maybe you have to have the propensity to appreciate the little things, everyday joys and pleasures. Enjoy things like the way cinnamon sprinkled on an apple, warmed a little in the microwave, can taste astonishingly like apple pie, but make your body feel so much better, so much more energetic, than real apple pie ever could.

Health and Happiness Go Hand-in-Hand
It’s a chicken or egg question, really it’s hard to say which leads to the other, health or happiness, but I tend to think that they usually just walk hand-in-hand, providing support for each other.  That’s why I think the HCG diet plan, the oral version available to all of us normal people, could change the world. It could actually create a population of happy, healthy people, people who smile and wave at each other. Replacing unhealthy people who lay on their car horns and waving their fists out the windows while their blood pressures mount alarmingly toward the breaking points.

It’s an idealistic vision, I admit.  But the fact that the HCG diet is giving hope to people who before didn’t have any gives me hope that it is a vision that could be someday realized, person by person, family by family, friend by friend.

Can HCG Shots be a Cancer Cure?

February 6th, 2010

Believe it or not, some people either think that HCG shots are a cure for cancer, or that the HCG industry has made this claim. The fact is that neither is true.

This claim has been attributed to some retailers of the HCG weight loss plan by critics and detractors, but no reputable dealer or physician would ever make such a statement. HCG has two primary purposes:

  • to treat fertility issues in couples unable to conceive a child
  • as a weight loss treatment used in conjunction with a 500-calorie diet

These are the only legitimate uses for this hormone at present. It is true that HCG has not been officially approved for dieting by the FDA, but this is hardly cause for concern. When HCG shots or drops are prescribed or used with Dr. Simeons’ protocol as part of a weight loss program, this is technically “off label” use, which physicians do quite often with many prescription and over-the-counter drugs.

There also is a connection between HCG and cancer diagnosis, which has confused many people. To clear up the confusion, here is some information on “Human Chorionic Gonadotropin” and what it does.

HCG And Its Purpose

When a fetus begins to develop in a woman’s womb, it begins to excrete HCG. This hormone has three primary functions:

  • it regulates metabolic processes during pregnancy in both mother and fetus
  • it prevents the mother’s system from leeching nutrients from the fetus
  • it keeps the mother’s immune system from rejecting the fetus

This third function is key. In this role, HCG acts like a kind of anti-rejection drug, similar to those that must be taken by transplant patients. Otherwise, there is the danger that the mother’s antibodies might mistake the developing fetus as a “foreign” body and attack it as if it were a transplanted organ or a pathogenic substance.

The Irony of Cancer

This irony of biology becomes apparent when you understand what cancer is and why the immune system has no effect on it. While a baby is wondrous and a miracle, it is after all as much part of the father as it is the mother. Technically, the father’s DNA is “foreign” to the mother’s body, which is why a fetus needs protection from its mother’s immune system.

Cancer on the other hand is not a “foreign” pathogen. Tshe DNA is exclusively that of the host. It is nothing more than a collection of the victim’s own, native cells that have gone haywire. Therefore, antibodies do not “see” them as an invading pathogen.

Interestingly, oncology researchers have discovered that like a fetus, a cancer cell also excretes small amounts of HCG, which appears to be part of why antibodies cannot recognize cancer cells as being pathogenic.

Historically, many kinds of cancer have also been difficult to detect until the disease has entered its later stages. The exciting part is that in serving as a tumor marker, HCG may allow pathologists to diagnose cancer at earlier stages when it is most treatable.

Can HCG Drops Aid In The Cure of Cancer?

February 6th, 2010

While some skeptics, detractors and critics of HCG and Dr. Simeons protocol have alleged that promoters and marketers of HCG drops claim it to be a cancer cure, it is not true The fact is that no reputable HCG dealer or physician has ever, nor will ever make such a claim.

It is simply not true. While HCG can be used as a fertility treatment (this is its primary use in medicine), it has no effect on malignant tumors whatsoever. However, oncology researchers have found indications that HCG may actually serve as a marker for cancer and thus may help pathologists in making faster and more accurate diagnoses.

What HCG Actually Does

HCG, which is short for “Human Chorionic Gonadotropin,” is produced by women and babies during pregnancy.  Its main purpose is to protect the health and well-being of the developing fetus. This is accomplished in two ways:

  • it prevents the mother’s system from robbing nutrients from the fetus should she be undernourished
  • it suppresses the action of the mother’s immune system so that the fetus is not mistaken for a “foreign” pathogen

In this second role, HCG may in fact function as a tumor marker.

HCG as a Diagnostic Tool

Known in ancient times as the “crab sickness” (because of a tumor’s resemblance to the sea creature), cancer is ironically, a form of immortality. Cancer does not kill the victim directly. It damages and interferes with the function of internal organs. This is what ultimately kills the patient. Only when the host is dead and the cancer cells no longer receive nourishment that they finally die (this is actually one line of current cancer research, trying to find ways to cut off blood supply).

Another reason that immuno-therapy has not worked well as a cancer treatment is because cancer cells are not actually “foreign” pathogens. They are cells that are native to the victim and that have gone haywire. Herein, lies the key to HCG’s usefulness as a diagnostic tool. However, oncology researchers have discovered that cancer cells secrete small amounts of HCG. As with fetuses, it is possible that HCG plays a role in protecting cancer cells from the immune system – and may point a way toward an eventual cure.

HCG Weight Loss Programs Lead to Healthier Lifestyles

February 5th, 2010

There are a lot of parents out there currently using oral HCG for obesity treatment. I’m intensely glad about this for their sakes, but I’m also glad for the sakes of their children, for the future of our country and of the world.

This gladness is due to the fact that HCG weight loss programs lead to people becoming informed about health and therefore changing their habits to accommodate healthier lifestyles.  When parents change habits and lifestyles, it follows that these changes will rub off on their children.

Does Healthier Equal Happier
Why do I think this will have such a positive impact on the future?  Well, it’s actually very simple:  healthier people are happier people.  They have to be. You can’t be healthy without experiencing some degree of mental and emotional contentment, and you can’t be entirely happy if you aren’t experiencing a sense of physical well-being.

So, we’ve got healthier, happier people, children who have learned from their parents about healthy lifestyles and grown up to promote those lifestyles and pass them along to their own children.

Healthier Lives Means a Better Future
These types of people, I think, tend to be more compassionate toward others, because they have more positive energy to share.  They make decisions that take into account not only their own personal well-being but the well-being of those around them, of the world. Because they understand that it’s hard to be healthy and happy yourself if the world around you is not.

Like many who have come before me, I cherish a dream of a better future.  I dream  of a future in which our children do not suffer from obesity.  A future in which they can go outside and play without choking on pollution, in which the majority of the foods they buy in their neighborhood grocery stores are naturally healthy and free of toxic chemicals, rather than the opposite.

I believe that this dream can be achieved, but it starts with individuals and then families and grows outward to engulf the world.  I believe that something as simple as the HCG diet can hold the answer.

With HCG, Dr. Simeons’ Diet Preserves Muscle Mass

February 5th, 2010

You have probably heard about major concerns regarding HCG, Dr. Simeons’ diet and health. This low calorie diet allows you to eat no more than 500 calories a day, which is risky at best After all, most humans in normal health require at least 1,500 calories a day, and some require as much as 2,000-2,500. Under normal circumstances, someone attempting weight loss by restricting themselves to such a low calorie diet would waste away, losing muscle mass before they would burn fat.

This does not happen on the HCG program however. The key lies in how HCG changes your metabolic processes, forcing your body to burn excess fat from the beginning instead of muscle tissue.

It’s Unnatural

Contrary to popular judgmental wisdom, fat is not about laziness or lack of “will power.”

In fact, virtually nobody chooses to be fat, any more than they choose to be white or black, gay or straight, short or tall.  According to Dr. Simeons’ research, obesity is the result of many complex variables. Some of these are genetic in nature; others are due to the modern lifestyle, including food choices and eating patterns imposed upon us by agriculture.

For example, did you know that hunting-gathering peoples do not normally eat grains and legumes or dairy products? These are plants that normally must be cultivated. For the first 90,000 years or so, they did not exist in the human diet. Like their simian relatives (chimpanzees and gorillas), Stone Age humans ate tree fruit, wild root vegetables, eggs and meat. The human digestive system was simply not designed for many agricultural products we take for granted today.

This said, there is archaeological evidence to suggest that larger women were considered desirable in later Stone Age cultures. This is still true in many parts of Africa and Polynesia. Such women are viewed as more fertile and able to bear strong offspring. Such genetic traits would naturally be passed on to children.

Finally, there is the subject of eating patterns. In nature, all primates (including humans) are browsers who nibble on small amounts of food over the course of the day. This kind of eating is not possible in an agricultural society due to the intensive labor demands. Humans were forced to eat occasional meals at set times, ingesting more calories that they required for immediate metabolic needs. Those extra calories wind up being stored around the abdomen and on the hips as adipose.

HCG Unlocks The Energy

Adipose is a rich source of energy and nutrients, much like whale blubber that sustains Inuit people in Arctic regions. However, adipose is not readily available to humans as an energy source when calories are reduced. This is why humans normally “waste away” on a low calorie diet. With HCG, Dr. Simeons’ diet makes adipose readily available for metabolism by reprogramming the hypothalamus. On the HCG program, when you restrict yourself to Dr. Simeons’ low calorie diet, the hypothalamus obtains the extra calories from adipose, not lean muscle tissue. It’s that simple!
