Diets For Weight Loss: Is Music Your Thing?

You can get in trouble for that…theoretically, that is. But just because other people seem to make political bribes seem everyday doesn’t mean that it’s right. Right? If people are able to use bribery as an effective means of generating action, almost against the will of those taking action in the political realm, just think how much easier (and more positive) it will be for you to use bribery on yourself to get yourself motivated to stick to the diets for weight loss of your choice, and reach your weight loss goals.
So how do you “bribe” yourself if you just aren’t used to this mode of motivation? Start by identifying what would be an effective bribe. That’s always the first step. You can’t bribe someone with money if they have an unlimited bank account; that is unless they are simply THAT greedy and obsessed with money. But in most cases, if you have an unlimited amount of money, you might want to identify a more effective bribe. Some examples; for those with tons of money we suggest rewarding yourself by NOT doing something that you usually require of yourself, like housework, etc. Or you can reward yourself with a trip or a vacation or a cruise.
But for the rest of us who aren’t rich…we’re much easier to bribe. Many dieters find the following bribing techniques to be nothing less than successful:
- New Clothes (meet your goal and buy a new outfit or 3 new pairs of jeans, etc. Be specific).
- Nights at the movies or the club if you stick to the diet.
- Throwing a party.
- Extra time on the video game … the one you love so much that you have to limit your time spent so you don’t become one of “those” gamers who will someday serve as a bad example in a sad documentary.
- Get a new swimsuit, go to the beach and show it off!
- Go to that concert that’s coming to your area.
But those are just our suggestions. You can most likely come up with some good ones all on your own.
Weight Loss Plan: Dieting Hater
Saturday, October 1st, 2011Weight loss plan, dieting, calorie reion…words like this are not allowed to be spoken aloud at my house. I despise dieting. It’s cruel. It’s mean. It’s unsuccessful. And if it’s going to be unsuccessful, what’s the point?
But I do need to lose weight. And my doctor suggested I try the HCG weight loss plan that so many people are talking about. I have to admit that I didn’t have a good attitude about it. To me, it was just another weight loss plan; another diet that was going to leave me stressed out, hungry, a bit angry and probably a few pounds heavier.
If I’m honest, I have to say that I did not expect this diet to succeed. And if I follow the advice of my therapist, I’ll rephrase that to read that I did not expect myself to succeed. But I started to succeed against my own expectations. I was following the rules of the diet. I wasn’t enthusiastic about it, but this is serious according to my doctor, and I wanted to be able to go back in and tell him that I followed ALL the rules and the diet didn’t work. So I was actually following the protocol that came with my HCG weight loss plan products.
When it came time for my follow up check in with my family physician (he worries about me since he’s my brother), I was down 15 pounds. I wanted to keep my sullen attitude and I tried for a minute, but I couldn’t hold on to it.
So now here I am, a spokesperson for HCG dieting against my will. I really wanted to continue hating dieting and weight loss plans and all that rigmarole. HCG Injections: Not a Part of Your Future

I used it to travel in time and check in on you every few days. There are a lot of things that you can look forward to, but HCG injections are not one of them. (Now…when a red headed man accidentally steps on your glasses at the museum, don’t cry and don’t yell, trust me. Agree to go on a walk with him. He’s not secretly a serial killer. He actually does have a contact in the glasses industry and will help you get a replacement pair of glasses same day).
But if you have been harboring dreams of sticking yourself in the stomach with a needle everyday in order to get weight loss, you are going to be sorely disappointed. But then, you don’t have to have needles of HCG to obtain weight loss anymore. That’s a thing of the past. (And I’m speaking from experience here…don’t forget: DeLorian, Flux Capacitor).
In the past the only way to access Dr. Simeons based HCG dieting results was through the use of HCG injections; and that means daily needles in the stomach. HCG For Weight Loss: Why and Why Not?

They have a talent for discovering topics of conversation that they can continue to wonder and question you about that hold little to no interest for the adult trapped in the car. And the most popular question is, “Why?”
“It’s broken.”
“Why?”
“Because you broke it last year.”
“Why?”
“I’m not sure. I assume you didn’t know any better.”
“Why?”
“Well, you were younger then and probably didn’t realize what you were doing.”
“Why?”
“That’s just the way things work. You were a baby.”
“Why?”
And this is the point at which you get drawn into a vague, fairly detrimental and entirely unwanted discussion of the birds and the bees and the resulting babies. Yikes. And the entire time you’re at the wheel of a moving vehicle. At least the child at hand is strapped into said moving vehicle and can’t jump out to escape you. When you’ve meandered through a not very explanatory and even less logical explanation of the topic that is somehow at hand, you sigh thinking that at least the conversation will be over and you can simply turn the music up and move on when….
“Why?”
It all starts over again.
This is the type of circular conversation that often occurs between advocates of the homeopathic HCG for weight loss program and those who are against it. The advocate can explain and explain and explain and explain, but no matter what you say there will be another question from the opposition. And it’s most likely going to be, “Why?”
WHY? It’s a pleasant conversation killer. It sometimes makes us want to stop communicating altogether. If you find yourself in this type of conversation with an adult here are some tips (with children you just have to grin and bear it because they’re still learning):
- Realize that some people just want to argue. They don’t want to be convinced. They don’t even want to listen. And sometimes they aren’t. If you feel it is your duty to share the wonders of homeopathic HCG for weight loss, simply provide them with the basics (online access, average weight loss, no known side effects, benefits of weight loss) and end the discussion. It’s Not Easy Weight Loss
Friday, September 23rd, 2011I like things easy. I like to easily get raises and promotions at work. I like to easily get straight A’s when I submit work for a grade. I like to land the new account so that I get that awesome bonus at work. I like to easily remember everyone’s birthday and everyone’s anniversary. I like to easily create gourmet, 4 course meals when my boyfriend or my mother comes over. I like to easily look gorgeous everyday without allowing time for excessive primping.
But let’s face it, even with all the tricks and tools we’ve got to make things easy…things still aren’t exactly easy. Everything good is going to require a little effort.
I don’t think there are very many of us who “easily” get promotions and raises. We work for them. We ask for them. We work for them again. And then we ask for them again. And we continue until a better job pops up or we land that dang elusive raise.
Straight A’s are the same way. Easy straight A’s typically go to those students who actually read the book, conducted the experiment or dedicated hours to completing that presentation.
Landing that new account at work? You have to figure out what they want and make sure they get it, and that almost always calls for some work on your part; sometimes a LOT!
Remembering everyone’s birthday and anniversary? I let my phone do this for me. But it’s not exactly easy and it’s not exactly fool proof. I have to input all the information. And sometimes…I somehow don’t hear the alert. And it’s still all my fault. No one accepts me trying to place the blame on my Crackberry (derogatory name for my hated Blackberry). I’ve tried.
Gourmet dinners? Easily? Nope. That’s not happening. The sheer amount of food is going to call for some time in the kitchen. You can take advantage of great tips and tricks and recipes, and they’ll make it easier. But they simply can’t make it easy.
And being gorgeous everyday takes a LOT of work. Most of us don’t have the time to dedicate that kind of time daily. So we come out looking “pretty good” or “acceptable” 5 out of 7 days and on those other two days we either hit “gorgeous” or “retched” depending on fate and luck.
Given the general nature of this argument you’ve probably already guessed that I’m going to break the news to you that there is no easy weight loss. There’s efficient weight loss.
