Homeopathy has been gaining ground for a while, gradually becoming a respected and accepted form of treatment even here in the United States, a nation of skeptics. Now, the weight loss treatment worshipped for half a century by the rich and famous has found its way into homeopathic form. That’s right, you can now obtain homeopathic HCG.
The Science behind Homeopathy
Studies and consultations were done with people who have tried both the HCG injections and the homeopathic oral HCG. They led to the conclusion that the homeopathic version works just as well as the injected version, despite initial dubiousness of patients and physicians alike. How could such a small amount of a substance have such an amazing effect on the body? In much the same way as other homeopathic remedies, I suppose.
I don’t think anybody, even homeopathic physicians, pretends to completely understand how and why homeopathy works. It’s part of the mystery that is science, that is the human body. But so much evidence in its favor can’t be denied. Small amount or not, it stimulates the body’s natural inclination to heal itself.
Using small doses ensures that the medicine only elicits a response from the body when hypersensitivity is already in existence, such as when the body is already sick—and sick with an illness that causes the same symptoms as the substance being introduced. If a small dose of the incorrect homeopathic remedy is used, there won’t be any response. On the other hand, the correct homeopathic medicine will behave as an immune system catalyst.
What about the placebo effect?
Nay-sayers have cried out that the body’s apparent response to homeopathy is nothing more than the placebo effect. Multiple studies have been conducted with results that indicate that this is not at all the case. Homeopathic remedies tend to double any positive effects brought about by a placebo.
I also think that the hundreds of people who have had success with homeopathic HCG, for whom no other diet plan had worked, would agree that it was a little more than just a placebo effect.
