The HCG Obesity Solution

With the proper use of HCG, obesity can become history. Just keep in mind that it is part of an overall weight loss strategy that was developed as the result of many years of research and treatment of overweight patients. Who Was Dr. Simeons?

We’ve talked a lot about Dr. Albert Simeons on this blog, and if you are a regular reader, you may by now be an expert on his life and work. While his personal life was unremarkable, his research shed new light on the problem of obesity – and much of it contradicted popular wisdom that persists to the present day. You Mean I’m Not a Lazy Glutton?

It has become popular in our often dysfunctional culture to blame the victim: someone who is unemployed, poor, sick or fat must have a character defect and therefore deserves what s/he gets.

Of course, you and I know very well that this is complete and utter nonsense (to put it politely) – and grossly unfair. While there may be a few individuals whose weight problem may be due to overindulgence in rich food, most people have very little conscious control over their weight. The causes may be:

  • genetic
  • cultural
  • dietary
  • glandular
  • hormonal
  • metabolic
  • age-related
  • any combination of these factors

This is what Dr. Simeons finally understood. Obesity is not a natural phenomenon, and is a complex condition with numerous causes. The bottom line is that the excess fat – known as adipose tissue – can be tricky to get rid of by simply dropping your caloric intake. Yes, anyone will eventually lose weight on a 500-calorie-a-day diet, but what you’re likely to lose first is not the weight you’re trying to get rid of (and it’s going to be very unpleasant).

HCG is a diet aid that activates your own body’s natural fat-burning mechanisms, which in turn does two things:

  • it eats up the adipose fat
  • it controls hunger

When you’re not hungry all the time and see fast results in the mirror – well, we call that real motivation.

Dr. Simeons’ HCG Fat Loss Method: Confirmed by Outside Research

Part of the scientific method involves duplicating results obtained by others. This is a common criticism of the HCG fat loss method; such critics claim that no one else has ever been able to duplicate Dr. Simeons’ work.

The critics are wrong. In fact, Simeons’ findings were confirmed nearly forty years ago by two weight-loss specialists, who then published their findings in a prestigious medical journal.  The study was carried out in the early 1970s by two researchers in bariatric medicine, Doctors W.L. Asher and Harold W. Harper. Dr. Asher is still operating his own weight loss clinic near Denver, Colorado; Dr. Harper is a proponent of the use of coffee and regular water-based enemas in the prevention of colon cancer.

The Subjects

Candidates for the study were all females between the ages of 18 and 63 who, aside from their weight issues, were in good health and not under treatment for other conditions (including pregnancy).  Exceptions were made for birth control pills and certain types of hormone therapy, including estrogen or thyroid conditions. The study was carried out on a total of forty subjects, ten of whom later left the study for various reasons.

The Procedure

The subjects were divided into two groups in a double-blind study. Both groups were placed on the weight loss a day diet. The first group received regular HCG injections; the control group was injected with a placebo consisting of a saline solution. Each subject received three injections a day, six days a week for a total of 36 injections (125 I.U. per day) a week for the duration of the study.

The Findings

Asher and Harper found that the women who received actual HCG lost more weight at a high percentage of overall body mass than did those who were on the placebo. Moreover, the first group reported feeling better, with much less in the way of hunger pangs and feelings of being deprived.

This points out an important aspect of the HCG treatment. One mistake that people make while on the HCG diet is assuming that HCG by itself will cause the fat to disappear. HCG is not weight loss by itself; it is a treatment that prevents the feelings of hunger while on the weight loss diet while activating your own fat-burning mechanism. Use it according to Dr. Simeons’ protocols, and you too will experience dramatic results.

The HCG Weight Loss Cure

While the HCG weight loss cure can produce some dramatic results, it is important to understand that it is not simply a “magic bullet.” In fact, HCG drops are only part of an overall weight loss program that requires all components to be in place and all instructions to be followed to the letter in order for it to work.

Step One: Preparation

It may seem counter-intuitive, but the first course of action called for by Dr. Simeons’ protocols is to stuff yourself with as much rich, fatty foods as you can get down during your initial two days of taking HCG. The reason is that fat being a rich energy source will rev up the metabolism, giving it the momentum it needs to keep going during what is to follow.

Step Two: Cutting Back

It is pretty well known that a 500-calorie-a-day diet is close to starvation levels. This sounds scary to most people, and so it should. You do not want to undertake this lightly. Nonetheless, it is necessary, and make no mistake: you are likely to feel some real hunger and deprivation for about two days.

Fortunately, this will pass. What happens is that the HCG unlocks the fat deposits in your cells, making them readily available as an alternative source of energy. At the same time, the hormone overrides the programming of the hypothalamus gland, which would normally attempt to slow down your metabolism and start feeding on lean tissues before burning this excess fat.

Since you are ingesting a mere weight losss, your body requires between 1,500 and 2,weight losss to maintain itself, the deficit has to be made up somewhere. Suddenly, the fat that you have been carrying around on your hips or belly will start to melt away as it flows into your bloodstream, providing energy for your metabolic processes. This is why people on the HCG diet feel little or no hunger, and the tiny portions permitted under Dr. Simeon’s protocols are more than satisfying while on the program.

Step Three: Adjust Your Activity

Here is another paradox: vigorous exercise and the HCG diet simply don’t go together.

The reason is that you are already burning calories at such a prodigious rate that any extra effort may indeed push you “over the edge” and result in some problems. This is not to say that you shouldn’t exercise altogether.  A little walking every day in order to clear the mind and to elevate the heart rate slightly is a good thing and it will keep you in a more positive mood. However, strenuous exercise such as high-impact aerobics and weight lifting should definitely be avoided.

Step Four: Finishing Up

It is important that you do not take HCG for more than forty days at a time. The reason is that your body will ultimately build up a tolerance for it and it will lose its effectiveness. If you need to lose more weight than you can in one forty-day session, it does not hurt at all to take a three to four week break from the HCG program.
