Using the Dr. Simeons HCG Diet to Control Obesity

The Dr. Simeons HCG diet was conceived about 50 years ago by, of course, Dr. Simeons, a physician who worked with patients on weight loss.  It was based on an astute observation of Dr. Simeons:  that people who are obese frequently cannot control this condition.

Out-of-Control Obesity

I don’t mean that they just can’t stop eating or seem unable to exercise.  I mean that sometimes they diet and exercise like crazy, to no avail.  Their bodies just will not shed those pounds.  Or if they do, it’s sometimes from the wrong places, like muscles and necessary fat stores that pad bones and organs.

Dr. Simeons was the first to recognize obesity as a disease, characterized by abnormal fat deposits that the body refused to burn.

Obese, Yet Malnourished

People who suffer from this condition frequently are not receiving adequate nutrition from the foods they eat, which in this day and age is no real surprise.  Even supposedly healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables do not have the nutritional value that they once did, because the soil in which they are grown has been stripped of nutrients by careless farming practices.  Thus, no matter how healthy your diet, vitamin and mineral supplements are a must.

Dr. Simeons acknowledged that obesity and nutritional insufficiency are aspects of the same disease.  It’s all about some sort of imbalance in the body.  He sought to find a means of restoring that balance and what he found was HCG.

What is HCG?

HCG is human chorio gonadotropin, the hormone produced by women during pregnancy.  We are all born with our lifetime supply of HCG. Only pregnant women can make more of it.

HCG works with the hypothalamus gland to control our bodies’ usage and storage of fat.  The chemicals in our foods and the prevalence of yeast infections cause our bodies to lose that lifetime supply long before the end of a lifetime.

Why Everyone’s Talking About the Dr. Simeons’ HCG Diet

Who is Dr. Simeons, and why’s everyone going on about the Dr. Simeons HCG diet?  Dr. Simeons worked in a weight-loss clinic fifty or so years ago.  During the course of his observation of patients, he came to realize that the whole perception of the conditions of being overweight and obese might be all wrong.

Up until then, everyone, Dr. Simeons and his colleagues included, had assumed that people who were overweight or obese were that way due to a lack of self-control, the inability or perhaps absence of desire to regulate eating habits, or maybe just pure and simple laziness.  But the more Dr. Simeons dealt with these patients, the more he started to believe that this wasn’t always the case.

Theory Behind HCG
He eventually emerged with the theory that there were two kinds of overweight people:  people who could control their weight, who were in fact able to lose weight at will, whose supposed weight problem might in fact be due to simple laziness.  But there were other people, usually those considered obese, who actually suffered from a medical condition, perhaps disease, that prevented them from losing unnecessary fat.

These people tended to have strange, unnatural fat deposits.  When they dieted, they would lose muscle and needed fat (such as the fat that pads the bottoms of the feet), but never these odd deposits.  Or they might only lose fat from part of their body. They might be skeletal from the waist up and frighteningly obese from the waste down, but dieting only ever served to starve the upper half of the body.

The Solution to Obesity
So Dr. Simeons was presented with the problem of how to persuade the body to rid itself of those excessive and unneeded fat stores.  The solution he came up with was HCG, human chorio gonadotropin, which works directly with the hypothalamus gland to regulate the body’s storage and usage of fat.

Obesity has become an epidemic because the HCG with which we’re all born is removed from our bodies by chemicals in our food.  Dr. Simeons’ solution:  reintroduce the HCG into the system.

What You Didn’t Know About Dr Simeons’ HCG Diet

The fact is that Dr Simeons’ HCG diet was actually developed back in the 1940s, even though it has attracted attention only in recent years. This unique weight-loss method was the product of several years of research into how humans store and utilize fat – and some of Dr. Simeons’ findings will surprise you.

It Began With Tropical Disease Research

Dr. A.T.W. Simeons was born in the United Kingdom then went to medical school in Germany after the First World War. Graduating from the University of Heidelberg with honors, he went on to study endocrinology.

After working as part of the surgical staff of a Hamburg hospital where tropical diseases were diagnosed and treated, Dr. Simeons traveled to central Africa in order to observe such diseases as malaria and dengue fever in their region of origin. In 1931, he moved to Bombay, India. This was to be his home for the next two decades.

During his time in India, Dr. Simeons had the opportunity to study the effects of malnourishment among pregnant women. At the same time, he treated morbidly obese patients for pituitary disorders. He made some interesting discoveries about Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), a naturally occurring hormone produced by the fetus during gestation.

The first of these was the discovery of the purpose of HCG, which was to prevent the mother’s body from stealing nutrients from the fetus, should she experience starvation. The second, and more significant discovery, was that small doses of HCG given to obese patients caused them to drop weight when calories were restricted.

The problem, Dr. Simeons realized, was that unnatural patterns of eating that developed as a result of agriculture had caused the human body to store fat in a way that it was virtually impossible to get rid of. He found that during a famine, the body would only start to utilize excess belly and hip fat as “a last resort.”

Reprogramming With HCG

When doses of HCG are administered to obese patients on a calorie-restricted diet, it acts on the hypothalamus gland in brain. On Dr Simeons’ HCG diet, the body is forced to utilize this excess fat in order to maintain normal metabolism.

Dr Simeon’s HCG Diet is a low calorie diet accompanied by HCG supplementation. The diet is designed to break negative food associations while allowing the dieter to lose weight ly.
