The two different methods of receiving HCG for the HCG diet can sometimes confuse prospective dieters. What’s the difference between HCG diet drops and HCG injections, and is one method better than the other?
Are Injections Better?
The easiest answer is no, one method is not better than the other. Really, it’s a matter of personal preference, whether you would rather give yourself a shot (or go to your doctor to get one) everyday. Alternatively, would you rather simply put some drops under your tongue three times a day.
Older Doesn’t Mean Better
It’s true that one method is older than the other, but especially in the medical world, older does not usually mean better. Tried and true, perhaps. But that doesn’t mean that improvements couldn’t and shouldn’t be made on old methods.
Think of people with vision impairments. For hundreds of years, glasses suited their purposes. Maybe they didn’t love their glasses, but it was preferable to not being able to see.
Then, contacts were invented. Miraculous! You could see without having something sitting on your face all the time. But the first contacts were hard, non-permeable lenses, which tended to be very hard to adjust to and rough on the eyes.
Then came soft, permeable lenses that were easier to wear but still had to be replaced once a year. Improving upon these lenses were the disposable kind that could be thrown away every couple of weeks. Now, a lot of people get laser surgery and do away with glasses and contacts altogether.
Some people do still choose to wear glasses, of course, just like some people choose to get HCG injections. But most spectacle-wearers would probably assent that people who wear contacts see just as well, if not better. Similarly, people who take the HCG drops get the same results, if not better results. There are no needles involved, and it’s easy to take the drops with you and incorporate them into your daily life. In our modern world, the drops make more sense.
