Eating While on HCG Diet Plans

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

HCG diet plans may seem like magic, but they are not. They are based on solid scientific research. Furthermore, an HCG diet works only to the extent that Dr. Simeon’s protocols are followed. You cannot consume more than 500 calories a day (this forces your body to pull out the additional 1,000 – 2,000 calories necessary for normal metabolism from your fat stores when regulated by HCG), and there are only certain foods that you may eat. This is important; all aspects of the HCG diet work together to restore balance to your bodily systems and normal fat burning.

Verboten

You will need to eliminate all sources of fat – and not only from your diet. Soaps and skin creams that contain fat should also be avoided. Basically, you need to make certain that your body has no other source of fat other than what you are carrying around your belly or hips. Fat is necessary for good health, but if there is another source available, your body will get it from that source and not your own fat stores. For this reason, you must also avoid sugar and refined grains – which as carbohydrates are chemically similar to fat and metabolize in the same way.

Alcohol is also forbidden. In addition to being largely empty calories, alcohol is a depressant that can slow down your metabolism – and this you absolutely do not want to have happen.

In General

Pretty much, all you are allowed to have while on the HCG program is lean meat, poultry and fish and fresh vegetables. For drink, think black coffee, unsweetened tea, or plain water. It is best to select organic foods and purified water, since chemical adulterants have played a major part in throwing our bodies out of balance and causing abnormal weight gain in the first place. If you must have something sweet, you are allowed a small apple, citrus fruit or cup of berries (unsweetened, unless you are using stevia).

Your Daily Diet

Breakfast will generally be half a citrus fruit (such as grapefruit) or an apple and a cup of tea. At lunch, you may have a bit of chicken or cold water fish with some celery, onion and lettuce, along with a piece of whole grain zwieback. Dinner could be a small piece of lean ham or beef with spinach or asparagus.

It is important that these foods not be fried in oil or butter. They may be roasted in an oven or grilled, but again, you need to avoid ingesting any fat whatsoever in order for the HCG program to work.

Staying With It

HCG diets may not have a lot of appeal, but keep in mind that once the HCG kicks in, you won’t be feeling hungry or deprived. In fact, because of the fat that’s being burned, these small portions are likely to be quite satisfying.

In any event, you won’t be on the HCG for very long at a time. Because the body builds up tolerance to HCG, it is necessary to take a three-to-four week break every 21-42 days.

Anyone can do anything for a few weeks – and the rewards are worth it.

The Mechanics of HCG Diet Plans

Friday, February 26th, 2010

HCG diet plans are based on principles that were developed sixty years ago as the result of research, treatments and study of obese patients in India. These patients suffered from thyroid disorders that had caused them to become morbidly obese. In the course of this research, Dr. A.T.W. Simeons came up with very interesting, and even startling conclusions about the nature of obesity and its treatment.

What Is HCG

The “Human Chorionic Gonadotropin” hormone is a byproduct of the gestation process. During pregnancy, it protects the fetus and helps to create a viable environment in which fetal development can take place.

While humans retain a large amount of this hormone in childhood, it is generally depleted by the time adulthood is reached.

During the early and mid-twentieth century, Dr. Simeons worked in India and had an opportunity to observe patients with thyroid conditions that had caused them to become morbidly obese. He treated these patients with small doses of HCG and discovered that the treatment actually caused these patients to drop pounds when nothing else worked.

In 1954, Dr. Simeons published his findings in a paper entitled Pounds and Inches. According to his research, obesity is not a natural condition at all, but rather an abnormality that is due to a number of different factors both genetic and environmental. For reasons that are not altogether clear, some people are predisposed to fat accumulation regardless of how little they eat, while others can eat as much as they please and never gain a pound.

How HCG Restores Balance

If obesity is primarily the result of imbalance, the HCG diet can restore the balance. Used according to Dr. Simeons’ protocols and a Very Low Calorie diet, HCG restores proper balance by first making these excess fat deposits available as an energy source. Then refocusing the hypothalamus gland (that part of the brain responsible for the control of metabolic processes) toward utilizing this energy source.

Thus, when you reduce your caloric intake to 25% of the amount required to sustain normal metabolic levels, your hypothalamus is forced to make up the deficit from fat.

HCG Diet Plans Make the Whole Body Healthy

Friday, February 19th, 2010

If you’re looking at HCG diet plans as a way to lose weight, I’ve got good news for you. Using the oral HCG diet will not only help you lose weight, but can, if you let it, help you make yourself an overall healthier, happier person.

The key is to use the diet to learn how to modify your habits and shape them into an altogether healthier lifestyle.  You also want to get certain supplements to give your body the support it needs to become healthier—which will also result in helping you to feel better, both on the diet and off of it.

Herbal Supplements
Vitamin B-12 is essential. B-12 deficiency is a prominent problem in the population, especially among people who are trying to be healthier, namely vegetarians and vegans, because we get our B-vitamins largely from meat.

While the HCG diet is not asking you to become a vegetarian, it is asking you to eat less of certain foods, and you need to make sure you’re still getting all of your vitamins and minerals.  B-vitamins provide energy and help your body combat stress, among other valuable and vital functions, such as proper digestion and efficiency in burning calories (hence the energy).  Vitamin B-3 lessens sugar cravings, and B-6 boosts metabolism.

Multivitamins
A multivitamin is also important, because obesity and nutritional deficiency are actually different aspects of the same condition. It’s very possible, especially in a society so drawn to fast food, to be both obese and malnourished, simultaneously.  Your body is not getting enough of what it needs, so it tells you to eat more, but when you’re just eating more foods that don’t contain the vitamins and minerals you need, you’re not doing much good.

HCG is about teaching you the foods to eat to get what your body needs. The supplements to take to, well, supplement what it’s hard to get enough of even through nutritional foods.  Making your whole body healthy means it’s not just about what the scale says—it’s about how you feel.

HCG Diet Plans Don’t Deny You Dessert

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Ah, the old sweet-tooth.  It always gets you.  You think you can run from it, ignore it, deny it, but it always catches up in the end.  The truth is, that in a world so chock-full of everyday challenges and demands, it’s hard to refuse ourselves those little pleasures that make it all just a little easier, a little more enjoyable.  HCG diet plans recognize that we need to acknowledge the importance of the little things and that it’s possible to have them and be healthy—yes, at the same time!

The thing about the HCG diet plans is that they teach you about healthy eating; how to adjust your eating habits to be more in accord with what your body needs—but with what will also satisfy those cravings.  You’ll learn to substitute high-calorie desserts with healthier alternatives like fruit sauces and mock cobblers.

I can almost hear you groaning and protesting that that’s not the same thing at all—but as someone speaking from experience in these matters, you’ll end up loving it.  Why?  Because it really will satisfy that sugar craving, but it will make you feel physically good—not make you roll on the floor moaning and holding your stomach in agony, as can often happen upon consumption of those ultra-rich delicacies.

Plenty of dessert-lovers who have gone on the HCG diet have ended up as healthy dessert connoisseurs, frequently creating their own healthy dessert recipes.  Think of the potential fun in experimentation!  Also, if these fruity desserts still leave your sweet tooth grumbling, try stevia.

Stevia is a South American herb that has been used as a natural (but sugar-free and zero-calorie) sweetener for years.  It doesn’t contain Aspartame, and it’s actually sweeter than sugar.  Also, you can get it in a ton of different flavors—for example, if you’re a chocolate lover, your options include milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and chocolate raspberry.

Sounds deceptively indulgent, doesn’t it?

HCG Diet Plans Are Easy to Follow

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

There has been quite a bit of hype about HCG diet plans–and for good reason–as they have proven to be the most effective way to lose weight available to dieters out there today.  More so than any other diet, HCG diet plans are helping people to lose weight rapidly in only a very limited period of time.  Because the HCG diet is so highly effective, nay-sayers have raised questions about whether it is truly safe to follow a HCG plan.  These concerns need to be put to rest, as the HCG diet is not only effective, but also very safe.

One of the reasons for which the HCG diet is so safe is because HCG diet plans are comprised of only natural foods.  Dieters are not required to purchase any supplements or artificial foods to supplement their diets.  Rather, they consume a very low caloric intake of healthy foods that they already enjoy.   The best part of this methodology is that the HCG supplements suppress the appetite to such an extent that consuming only 500 calories a day is not only possible but also easy to do.  Dieters from around the world are accomplishing what they never thought possible.

If you want to begin losing as much as a pound a day, then do not hesitate to visit HCG Diet Direct to begin the HCG diet.

Is It Really Possible to Lose Weight With the HCG Diet Plans?

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

The HCG diet plans may seem too good to be true for some people. Can you really lose 30 to 45 pounds in just a month? For some people, it can take up to eight months for them to lose 30 pounds, so how are people losing 30 pounds in one month with the HCG diet plans?

The HCG diet is not like other diets that you may know about. It is unique in that it works to change your hormonal balance back to normal so that you can burn fat like you are supposed to. Humans are not meant to be overweight or obese. The reason for people being overweight and obese are not because they love food or are lazy, but is due to the toxins and chemicals that are in our environment and our normal food that disrupt our bodies and cause a hormonal imbalance. By combining the HCG doses along with an all organic diet, free of toxins, preservatives, and pesticides that are in normal foods, you can set your metabolism back to normal and burn off that rate at a surprising rate. There have been plenty of success stories of people losing 50 pounds in one month on HCG, and they are so much healthier because of the diet.

The HCG diet plans are not that hard to follow once you know what you should be eating and what doses of the HCG you need to be taking. Some people may only need the HCG doses for one month and be at their goal weight, while others who are extremely obese may need several sessions of the HCG doses to achieve their desired weight, but it is possible.

No matter if you have 30 pounds or 130 pounds to lose, the HCG diet plans work the same for every person. The diet will not only help you lose weight but will restore balance in your body and will give you more energy.  You will feel better and look better.

A Word on HCG Diet Plans

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

The HCG diet plans are not by any means new phenomena, and there have been more success stories from this form of weight loss than can be easily ignored. You will lose weight with one of the HCG diet plans.

They put you on a 500 calorie a day diet, for goodness sake. The question at that point changes from whether or not you will shed pounds to what you are actually losing and what is happening to your metabolism in the process.

HCG is a naturally occurring chemical found in all body tissue, but at extremely high levels in pregnant women. It has been approved and safety certified by the FDA for consumption and carries no side effects.

The supplement is widely available and the diet protocol can be found all over the internet. The HCG diet plans typically administer the hormone intravenously, but the recommended dosage is so low that oral supplements can achieve the same results.

In keeping with the necessary diet protocol, an HCG weight loss clinic will ensure compliance and make sure that the injections are administered properly.  With the rising number of people taking HCG orally, however, the usefulness of traditional residential clinics is on the decline.

Get the oral supplement, read the protocol, and follow it to the letter for the duration of your diet and your results should be identical to others’. You will still lose the weight in the form of fat, rather than lean muscle. You will still be left with a healthy metabolism and a body designed to retain the weight loss.

This is what has been happening for more than fifty years with HCG supplements, and will continue to happen for people who want a program that rewards a brief, but extremely low calorie diet.

You will lose weight with one of the HCG diet plans.

Understanding HCG Diet Plans

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

The thing about HCG diet plans that shock a great deal of people is that dieters are only supposed to consume 500 calories per day.  While this may seem overwhelmingly difficult to maintain for anything like 40 days, HCG diet plans make this quite possible.  HCG helps your body to draw from calorie stores reserved in the body’s fat cells so that you can sustain off of the 500 calories you receive from food.

In addition to taking HCG supplements each day, you must adhere to a strict diet plan.  For instance, you are restricted to only a tablespoon of milk per day.  Additionally, you are not permitted to add sugar to even your coffee or tea.  Meals must be carefully weighed out to avoid overeating.  For example, lunch may include less than a quarter pound of lean meat and one vegetable.  This can seem quite sparse to many who are accustomed to the American style of overeating.  Dinners and lunches can also include one cracker and a very small portion of fruit.

Problems arise when dieters fail to strictly adhere to the diet plan outlined by a HCG specialist.  If the calorie count is not kept extremely low, dieters will fail to realize the great benefits that the HCG diet can offer.  When embarking on HCG treatment, individuals must prepare themselves to be rigorous in their devotion to the HCG diet plan.  If they can follow through with this religiously, they will be almost guaranteed to lose even the most stubborn of pounds.  The HCG diet is there for the taking and should be tried by anybody looking to develop the perfect physique.
