Gathering HCG Maintenance Diet Recipes

Friday, April 29th, 2011

We’ve already discussed the appropriate nature of gathering recipes to help you in your attempts to stick to the homeopathic HCG weight loss plan. There are recipes posted throughout cyberspace that can provide variety and interest while sticking to the calorie limitation and the very short list of approved foods.

We discussed the fact that many on the homeopathic HCG weight loss plan find that they have to relearn (or learn for the first time) how to prepare foods in a healthy manner. American kitchens depend far too heavily on butter and oil for their food preparation. It’s unnecessary. Homeopathic HCG dieters very learn to rely on healthier, low fat food preparation methods like roasting, grilling and baking.

Once the dieter has completed the low calorie diet portion of the plan they have a bit of healthy cooking experience under their belts in most cases. Then it’s time to mix it up again.

During the maintenance phase dieters’ caloric limit jumps up to 1500 per day. The dieter also has a lot of additional food items added to their “approved foods list.” As a matter of fact, it becomes so versatile that it becomes more efficient to stick to a list of foods to avoid rather than refer back to the tiny list of foods that are approved for the low calorie portion of the diet.

For those who have been enjoying their foray into healthy cooking some exciting new “additions” to the foods approved during maintenance are: milk, nuts, cheese, and additional fruits and vegetables. You can imagine that this will ally increase the number of recipes that will work for the dieter.

Individuals looking for HCG maintenance diet recipes often first look to their diet provider; many will provide HCG maintenance diet cookbooks or guides. But once the dieter is comfortable with the maintenance phase protocol they can easily obtain additional options to add to their healthy cooking repertoire online. Because the food items are no longer so limited it becomes much easier. Dieters can start gathering their recipes on mainstream sites like AllRecipes.com so long as they stay aware of the small number of limitations that are still imposed during maintenance.

Dieters who actively seek recipes and healthy food preparation methods throughout their time on both the low calorie and maintenance portions of the homeopathic HCG weight loss plan are better equipped to maintain their weight loss through a healthy lifestyle.

Two Sample HCG Recipes

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Interest in the homeopathic HCG diet weight loss program is great and there is no wonder why. It offers fantastic results. But one thing that most prospective dieters would like to see before they decide to go for it is the actual food that will be eaten while on the program. So…in response we’re offering up two sample recipes for you to try before committing to the diet.

Sample Recipe #1: Chicken Marinara

List of ingredients:
chicken, 100-125 grams
tomato, 1 small, diced
garlic, 2 to 3 cloves
oregano, 1 teaspoon
basil, 1 teaspoon
chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon
garlic powder, just a dash
salt and pepper, just a dash

Simple directions:
Oven should be preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place half of the tomatoes at the bottom of the casserole dish followed by the chicken after it has been seared for a couple minutes on each side with the benefit of garlic powder, salt and pepper. When you add the chicken to the casserole dish also add the garlic (minced). In a separate, small bowl you should toss the remaining tomatoes with the oregano, basil and chili powder. Place the tossed ingredients over the chicken in the casserole. Cover the casserole dish and cook it for 50 to 60 minutes. Serve it warm and enjoy!

Many enjoy the second sample recipe, Turkey and Tomato Soup:

List of ingredients:
turkey, 100-125 grams, cooked
tomatoes, 2 cans stewed or crushed (preferably of the organic variety)
garlic, 3 cloves, crushed
red wine vinegar, 2 teaspoons
parsley, just a pinch
cumin, just a pinch
basil, just a pinch
rosemary, just a pinch
red pepper flakes, just a pinch

Simple directions:
Cook tomatoes, garlic and all seasonings (just a pinch) in a pot for five minutes. Throw in the turkey and bring it to a boil, cooking for another 5 to 10 minutes after it hits a rolling boil. Turn off the heat and serve the soup warm. Enjoy!

Trying out 2 recipes might not give you an all inclusive idea of what to expect on the homeopathic HCG diet weight loss program, but it will give you an idea of what’s possible. And what’s possible is that you can eat healthy and still enjoy what you’re eating. The HCG program is a weight loss program so fudge and cheesecake aren’t on the menu…but you’ll be surprised at how much you like what is on the menu!

Your HCG Diet Cookbook

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

HCG diet cookbook, you scoff, glaring at me through the narrowed slits of your hungry eyes.  I can see you think I’m mocking you and your weight losss a day, but truly, I’m not.  There are HCG diet recipes and even cookbooks available, which will provide you with ideas for meals that will be in tune with your diet but still not make you feel like you’re being deprived of a good-tasting, enjoyable meal.

Sure, in the beginning, your permitted portions may seem a little lean and mean.  But you’ll be surprised at how you adjust and how good you increasingly feel.  The HCG itself will help to control hunger pangs, since it’s signaling your body to use up all that stored fat, which is the same as stored energy.  You get hungry because your body wants energy.

HCG Beverages
If you drink your calorie-free herbal teas sweetened with calorie-free, craving-reducing stevia (in a variety of mouth-watering flavors, no less), that too will help you to feel more satisfied food-wise.

Chicken and Veggies
Aside from that, let’s take a look at one yummy meal you can make, which serves as a good lunch:  chicken grilled with onions, celery, peppers, and appropriate carb-free seasonings.

  • Let the chicken cool before shredding it.
  • Then apply the chicken and veggie mixture to lettuce leaves. Voila, you’ve got yourself a yummy lettuce wrap.
  • Melba toast makes good, diet-friendly chips and can scoop up leftover chicken and veggies.

Dinner Ideas

  • A nice dinner might consist of grilled fish and roasted asparagus or steamed salted, peppered cabbage
  • A lean roast put into the crock pot with onions, celery, and seasonings several hours in advance.

Desert Ideas

  • For dessert, try strawberries with vanilla stevia
  • A fresh apple sliced in half, covered in cinnamon, and heated in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

Remember to watch your portion size. Obviously, bigger portions contain more calories, and it’s crucial to the success of your diet that you do not consume more than the specified 500.  Put any leftovers in one-serving containers to be taken to work for lunch the next day, or eaten for dinner the next night.

What to Eat: HCG Diet Recipes

Monday, February 1st, 2010

On the HCG diet, you’re on a low calorie diet plan.  If you let it, such a strict, limited intake of calories could become tedious and uninteresting.  Therefore, we have some HCG diet recipes for you to help spice things up.

HCG Beverages
First of all, beverages.  You can make things more interesting just by adding a little stevia to your water or (otherwise unsweetened) green tea.  Available flavors include apricot nectar, chocolate raspberry, cinnamon, dark chocolate, English toffee, grape, lemon, milk chocolate, peppermint, root beer, Valencia orange, and vanilla crème.

Stevia (a South American herb used by natives as a sweetener for centuries) actually reduces cravings for fats and sugars and conveniently contains no calories.

HCG Fruit Ideas
If your two servings of fruit a day are boring you, try spicing things up with the warm cinnamon apple.  Cut a fresh apple in half, and sprinkle cinnamon across the tops of both halves. Cinnamon doesn’t contain any carbs, so completely covering the apple is totally permissible.  Then heat the apple in the microwave for a couple of minutes, and voila!  You have a snack amazingly reminiscent of apple pie.

HCG Main Course Idea
As far as the main course, try a simple “meat in tomato sauce” dish.  Slice one or two tomatoes and sauté on medium heat for five minutes or so, mashing them a little in the process with the back of a spoon.  Then, take your 100-125 grams of selected lean meat (beef, chicken, etc, as long as it’s lean), and grill it.  The tomatoes, after the five minutes of sautéing and mashing, should have been transformed into tomato sauce.

Mix the sauce and meat together with some spices. Suggestions are ¼ teaspoon garlic salt, ¼ teaspoon onion salt, and ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning.  Do check ingredients, specifically on the Italian seasoning, to ensure they didn’t sneak any carbs in there. You just never know, and that’s definitely not worth ruining your diet over when there are plenty of yummy and carb-free spices available!

With a little research into what other HCG dieters have done, and some experimentation of your own, I guarantee you can make your diet interesting as well as successful!
